At the moment solar power panels are not completely efficient. As the light comes in contact with these panels it is often divided into different wavelengths. The light that comes in contact with the power cells has a wide range of photons. Sometimes the light doesn’t have enough energy to complete a full electron pair while some have too much energy. Photons that contain more energy than the required amount those photons will be lost. It is estimated that around seventy percent of the light that reaches the power cell will be lost. As new improvements come along less and less energy will be lost.

Enough solar power panels needed to power a small home will cost around thirty two thousand dollars. The current prices of solar power systems force many people to continue polluting the environment. As more and more new advancements come available the prices will continue to decrease providing more people with the chance to take advantage of solar power. Currently in the United Kingdom the government is offering grants to anyone who wants to replace their fossil fuel systems with solar power systems. As the world grows more and more aware of environmental concerns more and more options will be available to everyone no matter what budget they are working with.
