Acne at this Age? But I’m no longer a teenager.

Posted by admin on July 14, 2008 in Beauty

Contrary to some myths about acne, pimples are not for only teens going through puberty and hormonal upheaval.

In spite of the fact that they may the highest percentage of the population that may have to cope with unsightly pimples, acne can affect just about anyone and speaking from personal experience, if left untreated or un-prevented, acne can be just as debilitating physically and emotionally on adults as it is for teens.

Actually, adult acne may even be more devastating since there’s no excuse such
as “it’s just puberty, you will outgrow it….” I guess all the people who tried to console me as a teen, who sadly had to deal with acne till I was about 22, were wrong. They meant well, but were still wrong.

Now, adult acne plagues 25% of adult males and up to 50% of adult females, though it is often not recognized. Consequently, how to effectively control this predicament is obviously necessary.

Although, conventional treatments of acne for adults and teens are what a good deal of the population turns to, based on my experiences and dare I say common sense, what worked for me was and is a natural acne remedy.

Since treatment and control for adult acne does not differ drastically from that for teens, with drug-free healing, these simple steps could be used by anyone coping with acne problems.

1. First and foremost, I care not what some sites and product endorsers say about how diet doesn’t affect acne; you have got to make a change in your eating habits, plain and simple. You are what you eat. If you want to have clearer skin and the added bonus of improved health, of course eating right will be essential. That said: Fruits and vegetables friends. Shop more in the produce aisle and steer clear of the snack stands at the cash register. It’s worth the sacrifice and this forms the basis of an internal acne treatment right there from its root cause.

2. For external acne-care, you could learn such simple tips as facial massaging and exercises. However, (now I’m speaking from what I went through and believe me I had acne BAD…) simply washing your face with nothing but clean hands and plain cool water may perhaps be the most efficient way to clean the pores. Combined with the facial massaging and occasional steaming of the face, this will be very sufficient to clean the skin.

3. Change your pillowcases daily and make sure you have a towel exclusively for your face or you could employ the use of paper towels.

4. If you use greasy hair-products, shampoo the hair before retiring or at least use a clean do-rag to hinder the introduction of oily substances to the pillowcase and inevitably your face while asleep.

5. On that subject, try to also sleep on the right side. Besides checking against contaminations getting on the face, this is great for the heart and lungs and allows for a better and restful sleep (which co-incidentally helps with controlling acne.)

6. For males, when shaving, shave in the direction of the hair-growth (mostly downwards) and for an after-shave procedure, look into face massaging and occasional facial steaming as well.

7. For females-Avoiding the use of elaborate and inadvisable makeup regimens is advised. Besides, the clearer your skin becomes, you will see less of a need to have to spend time using make-up. It’s safe to say most guys like you ladies- you know…natural.

8. Deal with stressful situations amicably. This is another topic into itself but briefly these work: Proper diet (factor #1), proper thinking habits and exercise. For stress, allow me to mention Yoga-don’t have the space to explain why, but friends, with its sun-exercises and its derivative, Hindu push-ups, Yoga is awesome for stress-relief.

Adult Acne can be frustrating and embarrassing, but with the steps above, take it from a guy who went through it and doesn’t anymore, you definitely will be on the path towards clearer skin.

So empower yourself with the use of these tips to be free from adult acne starting today.

Curls for Girls - How to Scrunch Your Hair

Posted by admin on June 11, 2008 in Beauty

This is a simple, and great to know, blow drying technique for bringing out the natural curl in both long and short hair. Anyone, with the possible exception of those with fine, very straight hair, can get an amazing amount of volume and curl if you will try this. You do not have to wash your hair, just make sure it is wet, and add a little gel or mousse to it if you would like. In fact, unless your hair is very fine and prone to being weighed down by hair products, leaving it just a little dirty will actually add volume to your curls! You also might want a place to sit while you do this.

Step 1: Holding your hair dryer in one hand, bend at the waist, and flip your hair upside down, so the ends are all hanging towards the ground. With your free hand, grab a handful of the ends of your hair and bring your hand up towards your head, gathering up hair as you go. You should have a big handful of hair. Hold it loosely in your hand, and aim the warm air all around your hand for 15 seconds or so. Release that hair, and repeat with another section of hair. Move all around your head! You should be able to get all of the way around your head with about 5 handfuls.

Step 2: When you have had a go at all of your hair, take a few seconds and aim the dryer at your scalp. Rub your free hand in small circles all over your head while aiming the dryer at your scalp. This will create volume in your hairstyle, and even when you wear it straight it is a good technique to use. No one looks good with hair flat to their scalp.

Keep repeating these steps until your hair is mostly dry. The tighter you squeeze your hair as you dry it, the more curl you will get, and the longer it will take to dry. This can take from 5-20 minutes, depending on how long and thick your hair is. When your hair is nearly dry, add a little hairspray at your scalp, and through the rest of your hair, and do one more quick round with the hairdryer. I would love to see what you all can do with this-please send your before and after pictures to me!

Tips: Try having some layers cut into your hair if you don’t have them, to maximize your “curl power!” Also, the more frequently you scrunch your hair, the easier it is. Embrace your curls!

Crazy Contact Lenses - Making Them Look Deep Into Your Eyes

Posted by admin on June 1, 2008 in Beauty

The possibilities are endless. Get wild, weird, or simply beautiful lenses for whatever occasion you attend or impression you want to make.

But because decorative lenses do not always require a prescription and because there are so many ways to buy them, it’s important that consumers research companies selling them, especially those based online. Do not put your eyesight at risk!

They say eyes are windows to the soul. So if you are creatively stylish with your makeup, clothes, shoes, or hairdo, why not do the same with your eyes? Even if you have 20/20 vision, you can still be a part of the fashion trend of crazy contact lenses. Don’t just change the color of your eye, change the design! You don’t even need a prescription.

But if you do have prescribed contact lenses, why not experiment a little? Remember when you were younger and wore orange and black wired braces for the month of Halloween? Well, how about on October 31st you wear a really spooky pair of contact lenses?

There are all sorts of crazy contact lenses out there. You can make your eyeballs look entirely green or you can appear to have cat eyes. Maybe you want to wear crazy contact lenses for Halloween, a night out on the town, or perhaps you prefer a subtler, but equally awesome look for your daily life.

Do You Attract The Opposite Sex ?

Posted by admin on May 30, 2008 in Beauty

All of us want to get a great mate. We want to settle for nothing less than the best of the specie. Are we having the personality to attract the opposite sex? Do we have that magnetism to pull them near us? That is a big question and once we get how to do that, the world is ours.

Let us begin with raw appeal. There is something called animal appeal. Some of us have that and some don’t. This appeal has to do with our voice tone, our walk, our talking style, our smell of the body, our body and our personality. Take care of these and you are half way through. Suppose you are a woman. You are asked to join a group of hundreds of women all standing in a queue. Then some men are allowed to view all of you. Will you beat all the women and attract attention of every man towards yourself? If you can manage that, you are a winner. Same with men.

What about understanding the personality of the opposite sex? Take a teacher. She is trained to handle many children and knows about how to teach them. Do you know some thing about how to handle the opposite sex? Have you studied about them? If not, please pick up some good guides and do that as soon as possible.

Making yourself attractive is the first requirement. Once you can do that, you will manage to get any one as your date. Good Luck.

Get More Personal

Posted by admin on May 27, 2008 in Beauty

Most folks who know me, know that when people write me I always like to write back and show how much I appreciate the message. I do stay busy, but taking the time to write back is something that’s very important to me.

Well friends, the other day I slipped up! (See even I can admit my mistakes… lol. After all that’s how we grow isn’t it?). You see I received a message from a person that had two parts to it. The first part a very kind note letting me know how much she enjoyed the ezine I offer, while the second part was asking about purchasing a sponsorship ad in the newsletter.

I must have been in a bit of a hurry at the time so I only wrote back regarding the sponsorship part of the note (I am not making an excuse for myself here. Lack of time is simply no excuse when building relationships… professional, personal or otherwise. That’s a rule you’ll want to take to heart I assure you).

When I first replied I didn’t even realize that I had been so hasty about it. Then luckily (I’ll explain why it was lucky in a second) the person wrote back to tell me that I had not taken the time to give thanks and that I had only mentioned the sponsorship part in my reply to her.

She went on to tell me that she understood, but did offer the great advice that I should be a bit more personal. You see, while that is exactly how I am virtually all the time, it didn’t matter because in this particular circumstance it was my first correspondence with her, and she had no basis for judging me except by this first impression.

You see, she had absolutely no way of knowing that I do try to be personal. That was my job, and yours to portray with the actions we show others. I love the saying, “Your actions speak so loudly I can barely hear the words you say”. Wow! how fitting is that to the situation I found myself in?

Looking back, I am so thankful that she took the time to remind me. Had she not I might have slipped up again! (heck I’m only human right? :) You see, folks in our busy hectic day-to-day schedules we all get in a bit of a hurry. Maybe you’re selling a product (You are at least selling yourself) and not even realizing it but you walk into a person’s office or house and jump right into your sales spiel.

If you do this I am certain that you’re missing the boat! People want to know us prior to doing business with us (or extending a friendship to us as the case may be). When we first fill this basic human need we are in a much better place with regard to being able to give them what they need. Believe me, it is a position that is worth putting forth the effort to be in… Your friend in success, Josh Hinds

Attract More Love & Romance By Altering Your Perceptual Position!

Posted by admin on May 18, 2008 in Beauty

If you want to learn more about how to attract the attention of others and to attract more love into your life, it can help to alter and vary the position of your perception of your self and others.

How do you view your self? I want to run an idea past you about how you perceive the world around you and your self. Your perception of any experience depends on the position from which you perceive it. I am going to mention three positions here that are useful to you with developing attraction and enhancing the love in your life.

They are known quite simply as the first, second and third positions.

- In the first position you are in your own body, looking out through your own eyes, seeing things from your own point of view.

- Being in the second position means stepping into someone else’s shoes, imagining what it is like to be them, looking at the world through their eyes.

- The third position is taking the stance of a third person that is viewing events in which you are involved, a bit like being a fly on the wall (how many times have I wanted to do that?).

You see, taking different perceptual positions enables you to step out of what you are currently experiencing and experience your self in a fresh, new light. It can spice up your perception of your self and make it easier to understand what others perceive in you and how to make you easier to lavish lots of love upon. It allows you to see yourself from a different perspective and gather different kinds of information about your self.

You can also keep a keen eye on how your own behaviour might be affecting other people, and then of course how they might feel about you. Taking different positions enables you to access information that your unconscious mind already has that you may have been overlooking. You can be aware of things that you may not have had a conscious awareness of previously.

So, how about in addition to having your ongoing experience of life solely seeing from inside your own eyes in the first position; you wonder what it is like to be someone else in the same situation, from the second position? Look at your self and see what it is that you can love about your self and you will no doubt find it much easier to ensure you get lots of love without waiting for Valentines day to come around.

Imagine how other people might see you; this is especially useful if that person was someone you know to have a good level of self-esteem and love in their life too.

Thirdly then, see yourself and others as if from an outside perspective, looking at the larger picture as in the third position. Then you can think of using this idea of taking different perceptual positions when you encounter any kind of conflict or when planning a project or evaluating a situation or if you ever feel stuck on something or you are ever in need of a bit more love and want to find more things to enjoy about your self and your life.

Loving your self is like growing and developing self-esteem and confidence in your self and helps with so many things that you and your personal development will benefit from.

When you truly appreciate how others perceive you and update your behaviours accordingly, you can discover how easy it is for others love you more. Enjoy experiencing life from a new perceptual position.

Hair Replacement Procedures

Posted by admin on May 16, 2008 in Beauty

In our society, terms like “hair transplant,” and “scalp reduction,” are praised by doctors and advertisements, but they leave consumers befuddled. Yes, everyone knows these are surgical hair replacement procedures to attempt to reverse hair loss. But how do they work? How are these surgeries performed?

Treatments vary. Some surgical procedures may take place in a surgeons office. Others may occur in a outpatient surgical center or a hospital. Just in case you feel alone, here are some questions that have been posed by many men just like yourself: Is it going to hurt? Will I be asleep through the procedure?

To answer these questions, we’ll be blunt. All types of surgery are uncomfortable. Some men experience extreme sensitivity and tenderness to their scalp, others experience minor discomfort. There isn’t one specific side-effect that all men experience. Results vary from patient to patient. Fortunately, these procedures are usually performed with a local anesthesia as well as sedation. Patients rarely feel anything while the surgery is taking place.

Different Types of Surgical Procedures

 Hair Transplants
This procedure is broken down into sessions to achieve final results. Patients generally seem satisfied with the outcome of these procedures, although there is a healing process which can take months between each session. Results do vary for men and women, and it may take up to two years to achieve a full and natural looking head of hair.

 Tissue Expansion
After the surgeon makes an incision, a tissue expander (balloon-like device) is inserted beneath the scalp beside a bald patch. Over the course of several weeks, the tissue expander inflates; causing the skin to expand and promote the growth of skin cells. Once the skin has stretched enough, a surgeon will perform an additional procedure to relocate the expanded skin to cover the bald patch.

• Scalp Reduction
This technique is designed specifically for patients who require coverage at the top and back of their heads. Men who experience baldness and thinning to the front hairline will not benefit from this procedure.

Final Results

Unfortunately, results are rarely final and these treatments are very costly. As well, they may require a surgical touch-up procedure. This may take place once the incisions have healed. A surgeon may decide to fill a hairline or thinning patch by using grafts.
