How many steps do you take in a single day? Most are shocked at how many they really take. The average person steps over 5000 per day. This happens usually subconsciously like breathing or blinking your eyes. You are doing it without ever realizing how much you have done. Your feet absorb the shock from each step. Whatever you have under your feet can absorb it instead of your body. Comfort is what you want to look for when going out and shopping for that perfect pair of shoes. One of the best types of shoes to wear are running shoes. They should fit stable and secure on your feet. One wonders how much room should be at the portion in the front, the part where you place your thumb down in the front. There should be about a sideways thumb space for optimal support. Some people have wide feet or narrow feet and the running shoes that you pick should match whichever type of feet that you have.
The amount of cushioning on the bottom can take away the shock that your body would absorb. It can take away the impact from your ankles, knees, hip joints, and all the way up to your shoulders. Now that we have covered the basics for shoes and how to make sure that they are comfortable on your feet, let’s discuss how you can become healthier. With those 5000 or so steps per day you burn calories. If you practice healthy living, take acceletrim for your energy and weight loss goals, and eat the foods that are good for you, then you can not only have comfortable feet, but a fit, lean and trim body.
For a few, life has improved amongst the terrorist threats and
subsequent roller coaster of an economy. Some have bought second
or even third homes, while others have elected for collection
quality, top of the line automobiles. Others still have traveled
the world, experiencing realism at a level the vast majority
will never know. Why yes, luxury today is known well in certain
circles and is in fact lavished with immoderations.
The question begging to be asked is, “What now?” How many
yachts can one water-ski behind? Do you really want to go to the
moon? When it is all said and done and you cannot find
satisfaction with all the material things at your disposal:
Give of Yourself
People of affluence unaccustomed to a life dedicated to the
service of those less fortunate will always have a void to fill.
It is the scarcity mentality that says, “I must get all the
money I can before I die.” It is the abundance mentality that
counters, “I must pass on my knowledge and experience to give
others an opportunity to obtain things far greater than my own
accomplishments.”
Behave Consistent with How You Want Others to Remember
You
Those who want to be remembered as having made a difference need
to lead lives full of actions powerful enough to not only be
cherished in their life, but also after they have passed on.
Traditionally, these are service oriented acts. Become a mentor
to today’s youth. Help as many others achieve their goals as you
can.
Write Your Memoirs
When you have it all, tell it all. The story of your life should
be recorded. This way, you only have to say it once and you will
maximize the affect your experiences can have on all the people
that read your book. Book writing is always a great project for
those needing a new experience in their lives, especially for
those willing to undertake its arduous course.
Challenge Yourself
More like, refine yourself. Take up Jiu-Jitsu. Learn yoga. Do
something you have never done before. Study a new language.
Study two. Fly a helicopter. Feed thousands of starving people.
Make a List of Long-Term Goals and Complete One Each
Year
Aim for the horizon on this one. If you have ever thought of
owning a sailing team, here is where that desire is to be
recorded. It is far more difficult to achieve your innermost
desires without writing them down. The human brain understands
that you are serious when you take the time to write your goals
down and review them on a daily basis. Let it all hang out.
Studies have shown that 90% of this great nation’s wealth is
controlled by 10% of its population. Many find that statistic
shocking, while others have come to accept its validity. Some of
this 10% are wholly fulfilled by their life’s experiences, but
there are those who yearn for a bit more. The upper crust
possess within it a class of its own, a faction unsatisfied by
the trappings their money affords them. Rather, they go through
with their day-to-day affairs and wonder if they could get even
more out of life. The answer is a resounding yes.
We all create in slightly different ways, as all of us are unique people. There are common traits and styles though throughout everyone who creates, and if we take the time to discover some of the ways our creativity manifests itself and how we create our best work, it can be of great benefit to us in the long run.
One simple example of two different types of creativity is between creating by addition or creating by subtraction. You see, really, creativity is just the same as mathematics…
Seriously, something I’ve learnt myself through writing, especially when writing to a specific assignment or brief, is that by being aware of the way I create can make it much easier.
Back to the mathematics for a moment to explain.
Creating by addition is starting with nothing and adding a little, piece by piece, until your final work is complete.
Creating by subtraction is the opposite. Starting with a great mass of stuff, everything possible, then chipping away, carefully removing little by little until your final work is revealed underneath.
Here are some examples of the two different types:
Creating by addition -
Musicians and composers: Maybe begin with a single melody line, beat or sample and build up layers around it until the song or piece of music is complete.
Tapestry artists: Begin with nothing but an idea or design, then weave thread by thread, colour by colour and layer by layer, building up the tapestry gradually.
Poets: May write one or two lines at a time, adding to their poem slowly, each word carefully chosen and placed in the correct position and sequence and complementing all that’s been put there before.
Creating by subtraction -
Archaeologists: Start by having a vague idea of what may be buried beneath them then delicately and systematically remove the earth and debris material to uncover the treasures of a previous civilisation.
Sculptors: Typically will start with a huge chunk of their chosen material, granite or oak for example, then chip away gradually until the beauty of the sculpture beneath reveals itself.
Fiction Editors: Begin with a mass of words, sentences, chapters, then slowly remove the excess words and the weakest parts to expose the quality of the great novel underneath.
So how can this help you and your creativity? Well by being aware of which of the above two modes you prefer to work in you can make it easier for yourself to create.
In reality, most of us actually in practice use a combination of the two. When I’m asked to write a particular assignment I usually gather and write as much as I can, get all the possible ideas down first (creating by addition), then let it settle a while before returning to edit and slim down to the essentials (subtraction).
A colleague of mine instead begins with nothing, then simply adds a sentence at a time until he’s satisfied with the end result. He edits very little afterwards. By the way, his writing is of a very good standard, and he always finishes pieces of work much more quickly than I do!
To help improve my writing skills, and to help me save time doing so much editing, I often return to writing simple forms like haikus. Working to such strict and limited boundaries - such as the 3 line, 5 syllable / 7 syllable / 5 syllable western style haiku - can help greatly to train a writer to be more economical and efficient, and create more impact when writing longer pieces of work.
So which of these two types, addition or subtraction, do you use most in your creative work?
How can you incorporate more elements of each type to improve your creativity?
Finally, how can you experiment with creating in the opposite way to which you prefer to expand your creative style and techniques?
