Making Your Wedding Day Unique with Live Wedding Musicians

Posted by admin on January 3, 2010 in Entertainment Tips, Love Of Music, Relationships Parlor

Weddings are a time for festivity and nothing sets the mood better than the right music. Although the ceremony itself often reflects the romance of the classical era, when it comes to the reception people want to rock it out, making it a memorable event that brings out the laughter, love, and delight everyone is feeling. Therefore, the selection of wedding music or, better yet, wedding musicians can become an important choice.

You’ve got a lot of options, and canned music could work okay, but by the time someone agrees to run it and the music is collected the result is less than suitable. DJs are more standard and they provide the equipment and music selection preferred, but can be high-priced with less than choice results in some cases. For brides who really want something fantastic, nothing beats the sound of a live band that can react and respond immediately to the demands of party-goers and cost is often equivalent to that of a good DJ. The question then becomes what kind of band or musicians to hire that will leave guests in awe and remembering the event for some time to come.

For those who really want to “kick it up a notch” and are planning a Florida wedding, there are many choices, but one new option is hiring a steel drum band like Reel Ting. For those unacquainted with this type of music, it brings the sounds of the Caribbean to life with a Reggae sound that delivers the music of the islands into any wedding reception space and much more. And, with its resonance, feet can’t quit moving.

Many wedding instrumentalists, like Reel Ting, are not limited to style when it comes to music. Classical music played on steel drums provides a twist on the original composition that is not only unique, but produces lovely, lyrical music that is especially unique. When the party kicks into high gear, however, they are more than ready to liven up the party with a beat that will ensure party-goers never want to break. With the picks provided by steel drum bands, feeling like one is on a tropical isle can be experienced regardless of where the event is held.

When leasing any band it’s important that sufficient experience and references are offered and that they are checked thoroughly. After all, a wedding couple has only one opportunity in their lifetime to do it right so checking that the hottest band is on the job for the event will save much headaches. For instance, a steel drum band like Real Ting with ten years of experience and many letters of recommendation can assure engaged couples that their event will be a memorable experience.

The right wedding musicians should bring flair, flamboyance, talent, and professionalism to any event. Florida is fortunate in that it has many options for live music, but perhaps it is luckiest for the talented steel drum bands, like Reel Ting, that are based there. For any couple planning to wed, whether residents Florida or those traveling in for a destination wedding, it should be a first choice to make the event unforgettable and special.

Tinchy Stryder Insists on Posh Drink during Show

Posted by admin on November 30, 2009 in Love Of Music

Rapper Tinchy Stryder isn’t a man of great demands but he insisted on posh booze backstage at the V Inspired National Awards.

The pint-sized star requested several Limited Edition Heritage bottles of Bacardi, worth £50 each, to help him relax after his set.

A source told Now: ‘Tinchy certainly loves his rum - especially Bacardi. When he played V Festival over the summer, he mainly hung out at the Bacardi tent.’

This comes after Tinchy Stryder was robbed of a reported £10,000 worth of jewellery by two men.

The rapper, real name Kwasi Danquah, was confronted in a nightclub car park in Ilford, Essex.

Police were immediately called to the scene in the early hours of Sunday morning.

It’s thought Tinchy, 22, has now been reunited with his jewellery and watch.

The ‘Number 1′ hitmaker was reportedly confronted by two men in a nightclub car park in Essex, near London, at around 1.45am in the morning.

Members of his entourage reportedly confronted the two men before around 30 police officers arrived on the scene.

A spokesperson for the singer told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “Tinchy and his entourage were not involved in any fighting.”

Tinchy - real name Kwasi Danquah - is believed to have recovered his jewellery. One man was arrested for a public disorder offence.

The robbery rounds off a bad week for the rapper, as he was forced to pull out of a show at the weekend in Birmingham, England, after nearly 60 people were injured.

New Service Allows Users to Search for Music Videos Online

Posted by admin on October 29, 2009 in Love Of Music

“While MySpace and GoogleBox have launched services in the US and Australia, blinkx is the first to bring a music jukebox to UK audiences,” the spokeswoman tells AG.

blinkx Music allows users to find and watch music videos online, “putting the biggest collection of online music videos in the hands of consumers.”

Instead of simply using metadata such as keywords to track videos, blinkx’s search listens to - and even sees - the Web through “sophisticated audio and image tracking”, making it easy for users to navigate the scope of music videos available online.

Users can search by artist, album, genre or song to watch the music video of their choice, or simply browse the top tunes of the moment.

blinkx Music allows users to post comments and interact with other fans, and also offers background information about bands and their work.

“There are hundreds of thousands of music videos available on the Web today which makes it nearly impossible to navigate and find what you are looking for,” said Suranga Chandratillake, CEO and founder, blinkx.

“Based on the success of blinkx Remote, our online TV guide, we recognised there was a need to help organise music videos and make them easily searchable on the Web.”

Michael Jackson Death Leads to Increase in Number of Music Videos Watched

Posted by admin on September 8, 2009 in Love Of Music

Since Michael Jackson’s death, two women from the Chicago area, about 48 kilometres from Gary, have started The King of Pop Hometown Tour taking busloads of tourists on a four-hour trek through Jackson family landmarks in northwest Indiana.

Before there was the sprawling Neverland ranch in California, before he became a superstar with the best-selling album of all time, Thriller, a tiny house in the industrial city of Gary was home for Michael Jackson.

The highlight is 2300 Jackson St, a small white-sided house as big as a two-and-a-half car garage where the Jackson family lived - with nine children - nearly four decades ago. His death has led to more people watching Michael Jackson music videos online.

“This is a tour of motivation and inspiration,” guide Denise Jordan Walker tells riders, as her partner Tecora Rogers readies the bus to leave. “We are not taking you to a gated community. We are not taking you to Neverland. We are taking you to Gary, Indiana.”

On cue, a music video of the Jackson 5 plays on overhead screens as the bus pulls off from Chicago and travels south down the highway. A young Michael Jackson sings, “I’m going back to Indiana. Indiana here I come. I’m going back to Indiana. That is where my baby’s from.”

The women said they always wanted to host a Jackson-themed tour of Gary, but had put the idea aside to focus on a Chicago jazz music tour instead. After Michael Jackson’s death in June, requests started pouring in, Walker said.

“It hasn’t changed that much since the Jacksons lived here,” Walker said. “It’s pretty much like time stood still. We want to paint a picture and let people really feel what the Jacksons went through on a day-to-day basis.”

Off the highway in Indiana, the bus drives through a heavily industrial area along Lake Michigan before stopping in front of the steel mill where father Joe Jackson worked. The tour goes on to the hospital where the Jackson children were born and the elementary school they attended. It also highlights the beginnings of the Jackson 5, with stops at Mr Lucky’s Lounge, where the group first performed, and the house where the Jacksons recorded for Steeltown Records in 1967.

While stuffed animals, cards and signs still decorate the outside of the Jackson home, the inside remains closed. The tour, however, has partnered with the owners of a mirror-image house across the street, allowing for a walk-through to get a feel for the Jackson home.

The Power Of Songs

Posted by admin on May 3, 2008 in Love Of Music

What do a car ride, a wedding ceremony and any great party have in common? Many things probably, but one thing they have in commong for sure is songs. Think about it. So many of our daily activities and our special events include special songs.

Think about the things you love to do during the day. Love to watch television? Pretty much any television show is filled with the songs of different musical artists. Do you prefer to go to the mall and shop? If so, take time to listen in each store you enter because you will find that songs make up the background noise at every shopping mall. If you are anything like me you cannot stand being in the car for more than a few minutes without turning on the radio or putting a tape in your player. Why? Because we love to hear songs. The next time you see someone out for a run on your street look closely and you very well might see a small cd player or another musical device that is pumping songs of inspiration into their ears as they exercise.

Will you agree that songs hold a lot of power? Many songs have the ability to put someone in a good mood or a bad mood pretty quickly. If you have ever been feeling down and then suddenly found yourself singing happily to the tune of one of your favorite songs then you know the power that songs can have. Songs have the ability to help us feel mellow or to make us feel excited. They are able to give us the energy to keep going or to relax us closer to sleep at night.

Songs also help us to celebrate many special events. Can you imagine a high school prom, a dance party, or a wedding reception without songs? Of course not. Because whether or not we realize it, songs have a huge role in most every event we participate in. Many people remember the first song they danced to at their prom or at their wedding. For whatever reason, songs tie us to memories like few other things do.

Many people enjoy hearing songs in live settings. You can enjoy the beauty and power of songs by attending a local concert put on by a choir or orchestra. You can also experience the power of live songs by ordering tickets to see your favorite musical artist or band play live.

Few things make up such a large part of our daily lives like songs. Enjoy the pleasure of listening to or even singing one of your favorite songs today.

Songs have been lifting the spirit of author Rachael Stoleman since her childhood. Check out www.songshub.info for more on the power of music.
