Next, take a deeper breath, this time inviting the air down into your belly, letting your belly swell outwards as far as it will go. Imagine now that the air is alive and sparkling and colorful. Notice what color it is, and see in your mind’s eye the sparkling air come down your windpipe and into your belly, swirling and caressing you with unconditional love. Allow the breath to be released slowly.
Take another deep belly breath, and this time imagine the sparkling light permeating every cell of your body. See it travel from your head to your toes, softly dancing. Notice any feelings you have in a particular part of your body. As you continue your conscious breathing, allow yourself to visualize the light spreading outwards beyond your body like a bubble. Continue this expanding until you feel it has expanded enough, then stop and simply allow yourself to feel the energy you have created. Now, in your head, say the following: Higher Self, please connect with my physical body so that I may hear your wisdom. I am ready to remember my divine power and purpose. Notice any reply you may receive or feelings you have. Spend another few moments feeling the energy you have created. If you desire, play with the energy, rolling it around different parts of your body, focusing it in certain places. Feel your power and feel love for all parts of yourself. Now, slowly come back into the room, taking all the time you need, with the knowledge that your Higher Self is now consciously present.
If you are determined to become aware of your deeper thoughts, feelings and intuitions and consciously play with developing better listening skills, you will soon find that you feel more centered and connected to the powers that be. You will discover the wise and ever knowing guru within you, and remember that you are never ever alone! Look within yourself for answers and you will be surprised how talkative your higher self can be.

1. Work backwards - When you are writing optimized copy for your website you have to start at the end! If your article is based on two keyword phrases, make a second sub headline further down the page mentioning the second keyword, and use an H2 tag if possible. If the H1 and H2 tags produce headlines that don’t look good, then modify the style sheet of your document to produce a headline with a smaller font size.
Use your main keywords in a text link, linking to another page on your website that has similar content. Finally, give your page a file name that uses your main keyword.

When I left the ‘Don’, (This is part of a far larger story about how I learned a great deal in jail at the age of twenty when I went to serve off parking ticket fines rather than pay for what I considered illegal taxation for a corrupt bureaucracy) I saw a cat near the sidewalk ahead of me. It was an orange and white tabby that didn’t move out of my way nor did it come for rubs from my outstretched hand. It winked at me with one eye and I received a flash of enlightenment. The knowledge of what exists in the lowest form of life is ruled by the same principles and rules that impact the more complex creatures. Knowledge is not comprised of words or logical constructs and when fully integrated it appears quite simple. That is the nature of principles. Seeing or feeling the white light in Yoga has an element of this, as does the Near Death Experience. This was more than that!
In a mere fifteen seconds my head was filled. I may only have been able to incorporate a small portion of what it offered yet it seemed almost to be the kind of divine illumination that many ecstatic religions report. It was something I pondered upon for many years. My current attitude about it is that it was not the level of knowledge that I would have gotten at the most complex level of life, but rather one or more steps beneath that. About ten years ago James Redfield’s book the Celestine Prophecy told a nice story that incorporates the knowledge of the Enneagrams. Around the early 1920’s Jesuit priests brought this knowledge out of Persia and probably it is related to the Magi of Zoroaster and the three wise men of the Bible. These Magi are on the path of the alchemist and other shamanistic attunements. Gurdjieff’s Sarmoung Brotherhood are directly associated with the Enneagrams. Redfield does not include mention of the Enneagrams in this book and I have not read his follow up books to know if he gives them credit there. If he does that is nice; but it might also threaten a lot of people if he did. He agreed with me on almost every point related thereto.
However, when it happened to me I did not know about the Enneagrams and I thought it was a Cosmic Consciousness or direct cognition of even greater proportions. I had read R. M. Bucke’s book by that title and it had led to some calling me the ‘Cosmic Kid’ a few years earlier. His work also details a man who disappeared before scientists and police 29 times at McGill University in Montreal where Bucke was a psychiatrist. Bucke is the man who worked with Walt Whitman to end straight-jacket uses and treat people with respect. The Movie Beautiful Dreamers is well worth watching and tells their story in a London, Ont. asylum. Eventually the man who could dematerialize didn’t return as he had said would happen.

V. Promotion, Sales, Public Relations, Marketing, and Advertising
Advantages have to be communicated to potential customers if they are not to remain unrealized potentials. Moreover, communication alone - the exchange of information - is not enough. Clients have to be influenced and motivated to visit a country, invest in it, or trade with it.
This is where promotion comes in. Not to be confused with marketing, it is concerned with setting up a trained sales force, and with advertising, sales, and public relations.
We deal with sales forces at length in our next installment. Suffice to say, at this stage, that poor countries will be hard pressed to cater to the pecuniary needs of high-level and, therefore, expensive, salespersons. Setting up a body of volunteers under the supervision, guidance, and training of seasoned sales personnel maybe a more suitable solution.
Advertising is a different ballgame. There is no substitute for a continued presence in the media. The right mix of paid ads and sponsored promotions of products, services, and ideas can work miracles for a country’s image as a preferred destination.
Clever, targeted, advertising also ties in with sales promotion. Together they provide the customer with both motivation and incentive to “buy” what the country has on offer. Brand switching is common in the global arena. Investors and tourists, let alone exporters and importers, are fickle and highly mobile. This inherent disloyalty is a boon to new and emerging markets.
An interesting and related question is whether countries constitute similar or dissimilar brands. In other words, are countries interchangeable (fungible) as investment, tourism, and trade destinations? Is cost the only determining factor? If countries are, indeed, mere variants on given themes, acquiring and sustaining permanent market shares (inducing a market shift) may prove to be a problem.
The answer is that the issue is largely irrelevant. Specialization and brand differentiation may be crucial inside countries - in domestic markets - but, they are not very important in the global arena.
Why is that?
Because the global marketplace is far less fractionated than national markets. Niche investors, off-the-beaten-track tourists, and boutique traders are rarities. Multinationals, organized package tours, and commodity traders rule the Earth and they have pretty similar tastes and uniform demands. Catering to these tastes and demands makes or breaks the external sector of a country’s economy.
Enter public relations.
While advertising and sales promotion try to access and influence the masses - public relations focuses on opinion-leaders, decision-makers, first-movers, and tipping points. Public relations is also concerned with the country’s partners, suppliers, and investors. It directly appeals to major tour operators, foreign legislators, multinationals, and important non-government organizations (NGOs), as well as regional and international forums.
As the name implies, public relations is about follow-up (monitoring) and relationships. This is especially true in the country’s dealings with the news media and with specialized publications. Press conferences, presentations, contests, road shows, one-on-one meetings or briefings, seminars, lobbying, and community events - are all tools of the twin trades of marketing public relations and image management.
A recent offshoot of the discipline of public relations - which may be of particular relevance and importance where countries are concerned - is crisis management. Public awareness of crises - from civil wars to environmental disasters - can be manipulated within limits of propriety and veracity. Governments would do well to appoint “public policy and image advisors” to tackle the periodic flare-ups that are an inevitable part of the political and the economic dimensions of an increasingly complex world.
Yet, even governments are bottom-line orientated nowadays. How should a country translate its intangible assets into dollars and cents (or euros)?
